Lately I have been finding a creative bone in my body that I didn't think existed. Most would not call me the artsy fartsy type, but something happened in February:
On Valentines day I randomly decided to pull out our Valentines day box and looked inside. I found a table cloth, cookie cutters, and a heart shaped straw. I thought to myself "what in the world am I going to do with these random items?" So I did the first obvious thing. I put the table cloth on the table. WOW. Go Athena. So creative :).
Then I looked at the cookie cutters and thought.....hmm...maybe Joey and I will make cookies. I am not much of a baker, but I figured we had all the ingredients for sugar cookies, and we did. So I pulled out the ingredients and Joey and I got to work.
They turned out pretty good. We only made 8 cookies. Don't judge me. It is very difficult to make sugar cookies alone with a 2 and 1 year old :).
I wasn't done there. My next creative move was to take the heart shaped cookie cutter and cut their PB&J sandwiches into hearts. melt.
It was a homerun in the 2 year old world. I also found use for the straw. Joey loved drinking out of it at the same time as me :).
We took an intermission (nap time) between lunch and dinner. But you wouldn't believe the creative juices that were flowing at dinner......heart shaped quesadillas :).
Once again....slam dunk!
Oh but wait....the creative bone didn't leave on valentines day. I decided to make a diaper cake for my the baby shower I threw. Not bad for an uncreative girl like me :).
Oh my gosh, all your heart-shaped food is cracking me up. That is so cute! And I love the diaper cake - I've always wanted to do one of those!
