Easter Weekend

Wow, what a busy weekend we had!  We spent the entire weekend together as a family and it was so fun!  On Saturday we started the day off with an Easter egg hunt at Cory's school.  Joey loved it.  He only gathered about 5 eggs, but still enjoyed it.  They divided up the egg hunt by age, so Joey was in the 0-3 year old hunt....it was over in less than 3 minutes! haha.

After the egg hunt we went over to the blow up slide.  I didn't think Joey would be able to climb to the top, but he did....slowly but surely.  It was so funny watching him inch toward the top of the slide as all the big kids were passing him by.

Once he got to the top he didn't quite know what to do.  He played at the top for awhile as other kids piled at the top and then went down the slide.

Finally a sweet girl helped Joey get down.   I love watching other kids helping each other out!

He wanted to do it again and again.  Joey actually got pretty fast at climbing to the top.  My favorite moment was watching him get knocked backwards down the slide by a big kid.  He had a smile the entire time, even after the big boy landed on him!

After we pulled him away from the slide we made a visit to the Easter bunny. He walked up to the bunny with open arms ready for a big hug.  It was pretty cute.  He just kept staring at him!

Next, we had to drag the sad 20 month old back home so we could get ready for the next part of our day, Lincoln's first birthday party.  I used to watch Lincoln, until we had Gen.  He had the cutest party.  His mom, Debbie worked really hard to make it special, and it was!  He had a Dr. Seuss themed party.  Joey had such a great time, especially wearing his party hat! He didn't take it off once!

His highlights of this party was the "green eggs," Lincoln's toy room, playing bean bag toss with dad, and Lincoln's swing!

The rest of the night was pretty calm, we came home, took a nap and prepared for our dinner party the next day!

Easter morning we woke up to a big breakfast: Egg casserole and fruit.  It was delicious, and the best part is Cory put it together! Woo hoo :).

After breakfast we went to Easter Mass, which was wonderful!  I always love the joyful feeling you get on Easter after 40 days of sacraficing during Lent.  When we got home we prepared a ham dinner for a couple of our friends from the Catholic Club.  Our special guests were Erin and David, Joe and his mom Joanne, and our friend Scott.  Dinner came together nicely and we had a fantastic time.  After dinner Erin and David stayed for some games.

What a fun weekend.  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend as well!
