It is amazing how siblings can just instantly bond. There is something so special about having a brother or a sister. I know from my experience that my sisters are my best friends. I know we have each others back no matter what and that they will always be such a big part of my life. What I didn't realize, until having my own kids, is how instant that bond happens. The way Genna looks at Joey when he gets up from a nap is with complete love. She lights up and cannot contain her squeals and smiles. If I take Joseph to his high chair to eat and she cannot see him, instant tears. They only stop when I move her to a spot where she can once again watch her big brother.
The other day I got Genna up from her nap and set her next to her toys. I sat down to do something and looked over to see that Joey had run to her side and was playing with her. They played for 30 minutes by themselves. Joey gave her toys to play with and Genna was just staring and smiling at him.
The other day I was holding Genna and on his own, Joey came up and sat on me and started hugging her like this. Of course it was difficult to capture a great photo, but these photos are so precious to me.
We are so blessed to have these beautiful children! I cannot wait to see them grow old together and I pray they stay close.
