Wow, I can't believe he is already a year and a half old. He is such a big boy now and a big brother! He just adores his sister and loves to "help" take care of her. His favorite "helping" tasks are burping her and pulling the diapers in and out of the diaper pail :). What a good big brother.
A few things Joseph loves to do right now:
- Playing outside. He could do this all day, everyday.
- Going down the slide. He has no fear, he loves going face first!
- Watching Sesame Street videos
- Kissing Mom and Dad
- Making animal sounds. His favorites are monkey's, dogs, and lately, ducks. His quack quack sound is hilarious, more like a "wok, wok"
- Trying to put his shoes on.
- Helping me pull out clothes from the washing machine to go into the dryer, however, he does not like it when I put clothes in the washer! ha.
- He still doesn't say to many words, the only words he says is Dada, Hi, uh-oh....and lots of other sounds. He babbles a lot, and seems to understand more. I guess he is just a little slower on the vocabulary.
- He loves to play with the toys in his toy chest. Especially taking them all out! We are working on cleaning them together.
- He enjoys "helping" mom make dinner.
- He does not like it when Dad hugs mom. He is kind of possessive haha.
- Mostly, he loves to be around people....and people love to be around him. He is very sensitive and loving.
These last few weeks have flown by! I'm not sure if it is due to lack of sleep or because I have two children or because of all the visitors, or maybe it is all of the above! We are extremely blessed with a beautiful girl. We are falling in love with her more and more every day. She brings so much joy to all of us.
A few highlights from Genevieve's first month:
- She is a great eater! So quick in fact we are having to slow her down because she was getting so gassy. We are hoping this helps.
- She is a great napper...during the day we just have to lay her down and she goes right to sleep....nightime is a bit different. She needs a little more coaxing at night....I guess she is a night person like her dad and I.
- She tolerates her brother burping her and touching all her body parts (eyes, nose, ears, toes, fingers)
- She is patient when mom needs to attend to her brother.
- It takes awhile to burp her, but she eventually lets one out. Sometimes I am shocked on how loud she can be.
- She is a tough cookie....we remember Joseph would scream if he went pee once in his diaper. The other day I took her with me to the store and when I got home I went to lift her out of the carseat and she had a full blowout, but didn't make a peep...in fact, she was great!
- We love this girl so much and can't wait to see her develop and grow!

What two absolutely precious children you have! Both learning and growing--so much fun to hear about!
