7 quick takes Vol. 2

1. Last year when I was subbing I met this teacher named Lisa. We became good friends and hung out a lot while she was teaching here. It was nice to make a friend in a new place. At the end of the year she moved back to Michigan to be near her family and fiance'. Well, she is coming to visit on Easter and is staying for a few days. We are so excited to see her and so honored that she would spend her spring break with us.

2. We are having a few friends over on Sunday to celebrate Easter. We are making a big ham dinner. I am really excited to celebrate the holiday with close friends, especially when family is so far away.

3. Joey has been so cute lately (when is he not, I know). Cory and I were discussing how blessed we are to have such a joyful child. He is so happy and fun. We love him so much.

4. I went through all my pictures of 2009 and got them printed....now all I need to do is put them in photo albums!

5. Tonight we are having people over to watch the Passion of Christ. I have not seen it for awhile, so I am preparing myself for a tough night.

6. I hard boiled eggs for the first time today! I can't believe I had never done this before, but it was fun to try. Then I went to my friend Alyssa's house to decorate eggs.

7. Cory and I were discussing the Easter bunny tonight and discussing whether we would want to celebrate Easter with the bunny. It kind of takes away from the real reason to celebrate, but it is also fun to look for eggs and get an Easter basket. Any moms out there have good ideas to keep Easter Christ centered?

  1. Hey! Joey IS cute, and yes, you are super blessed! For the Easter stuff, you could still hide eggs but they don't technically have to be from the Easter bunny. We might do something like that. They can be from "mom and dad" and have things in them like candy, little religious items, and even change for their piggy banks. Just an idea :} Happy Easter!!

  2. Of course I don't have little ones running around yet, but my idea was similar to that of Kristine's- I'm not sure there's particular "harm" in having the eggs be from the Easter bunny or from mom and dad or whatever- either way I don't think it takes the fun out of looking, but yeah, I like the idea of using them to focus back on Easter- putting Bible quotes in with the candy that the kids can read at breakfast or having one "special" egg with a crucifix inside and whoever finds it gets to be the special helper and serve for the day like Jesus did or something like that... Let us know what you come up with!
