7 quick takes

1. Weddings: I don't know about you, but I have so many friends getting married this summer. Can you even guess how many weddings there are? Drum Roll Please...I have to get my calendar to count! 10 different weddings! That is insane! Here is the best part....these weddings range from June 26th-August 14th! Every weekend there is a wedding...with one weekend that has three! Well what a blessing that so many people are marrying their best friend. I am in one of the weddings. My high school girlfriend, Liz Farry will be wed to her long time BF Levi Jette of Bremerton on July 24th. They met when we were on the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Youth. How sweet :).

2. Fathers Day: For Fathers Day we are planning on going to the lake. We went last weekend and had so much fun that we are going to go again. Joseph is a fish in the water. He loves it so much! Cory is such a good dad and we are super excited to celebrate his fatherhood with him!

3. Waterslides: Yesterday Cory's Dental class had their bridging ceremony from the academic part of Dental School into the Clinical part of DS. Unfortunately there was not enough room for families to attend, but Cory reported back and said it was a very nice program. They all received pins with the name of their clinic on them and they also got their business cards to hand out to people! How professional! After the ceremony they had a celebration with the families. It was a bbq potluck and they had big blow up waterslides. Cory took Joseph down the kids slide and he LOVED it. You slid into a pool of water that wasn't very deep. He liked it so much he cried when we took him away :(.

4. Where's Joseph: We started playing a game with Joseph when he was little where we would put a blanket over his face and say where's Joseph? Then he would take it off. Well lately he has started playing the game on his own. If the blanket is near him he will put it over his face and wait for us to say where's Joseph? and then he will bring it down! IT is so cute! sometimes he will also hide behind the couch and then reveal himself when we say Where's Joseph! It is so fun to watch his brain develop. What a sweet boy. Here is a video of him doing the game:

5. Cleaning: Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep up with cleaning. I am doing my best, but I am also trying to take time to play with a cute baby. How can you do both without wearing yourself out? :)

6. Heat: We are doing pretty well so far in this 100+ degree weather. I am surprised how not too bad it has been....although keep in mind it will be getting 15 degrees hotter :(. But you really just have to hop from one cool place to the next. It is not too bad!

7. January 26, 2011: Wonder why I labled this one with a date? Well I wasn't going to say anything on facebook yet, but I figured all my faithful blog followers can find out :). We are having a baby! Surprise :). We are very, very excited that our family is growing. I am 8 weeks along. I went to the Dr. yesterday and the baby's heart looked great! I truly have the best dr. ever. He was so thrilled to see me and made me feel so good about having another baby. Although he did say he hoped this one would be a little smaller then Joseph was at 9.6 lbs :) and he told me that Joseph needs a little sister. We will just be happy with a healthy baby :). Please keep us in your prayers and I will update you along the way :).

  1. Athena, we are praying for you and Baby Gaunt!! (So excited for you!!!) But, do you mean January 26, 2011? Because 2010 already happened... ;)

As far as cleaning...I try to deep clean one room each day and since there are only 4 main rooms in our homes, then the 3 remaining days in the week are more laid back for me... that's the ideal, but I am usually making up for things I didn't get to do! Google "fly lady" - she has some helpful info on her website!

    Love,
    Lindsey
