1. Pants? Who needs them? Not our 3 year old. Some days I have to pick my battles. We were staying home anyways.
2. Must. Get. Out. After staying inside all month because of sickness, we finally broke out of the house to go on a walk. We met our good friends at the park for about an hour. It is amazing how refreshed one feels after a walk. I can't wait for the day we can have regular play dates again!
3. I never really enjoyed cooking or baking until just lately. I have been trying new recipes I find online and have actually enjoyed myself. We have also been baking so many banana muffins. I had a freezer full of black bananas and decided it was time to clean those out. Unfortunately, they are so good, we eat them in like 2-3 days. I am kind of grateful we ran out of bananas.
4. Lent is here and our whole family is trying to make positive changes. This is the first year we really involved the kids. One thing they are both doing is reading the bible every day. I love explaining the stories to them, and they seem to be excited about it as well. There are lots of things we have added/given up, but one of the hardest for me has been no TV at night during the weekdays. Watching TV is one of the biggest ways I relax and wind-down at night. We would like to spend time doing spiritual reading during the time instead.
5. Every night Cory and I pray together. Our prayers start out with thanksgivings, which we end by thanking each other for something. The we move onto prayers, and end by praying for something about each other. Well, the other night Cory was dozing off during prayers. The next thing I know is he prayed that I would stop stealing his underwear! Oh my goodness, we couldn't stop laughing. I might fold his underwear and put it away, but I am surely not stealing them.
6. Out of the mouth of Joey: "Mom, I really love me. I love all my fun." haha. Me too Joey!
7. Out of the mouth of Genevieve: "I'm so proud of you brother!" Anytime he does something well.
I love reading your blog updates Athena! Can you send me your email? :-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, that is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteMeh, I ditch pants in favor of sweats as often as possible; I can't blame Genna!
ReplyDelete1) Speaking as a publicly employed introvert, I can'r blame you! I take at least one day per week to "recover" from a week of rehearsals and a weekend of masses; stay inside as long as you need it, then go out of doors for real human interaction!
The underwear bit cracked me up... I love you two! Happy Lentl praying for you all and offering up the whole musical mess until Easter!
