9 years

9 years ago today a relationship began that I could never have dreamed would become as amazing as it is today.  Yes, we have had many ups and downs, but overall our life together has been such a beautiful adventure.  Lets take a walk down memory lane :).

After attending a Fall Retreat with our Newman Center, this guy asked this girl on their first date.  Here we are posing for our first picture on our first date! The date included lots of talking, an attempt to watch Napolean Dynamite, my friends changing my screen saver to say I like to lick toes (I knew he was a keeper when that didn't scare him away) and for the record, I do NOT like to lick toes.  We went to Red Robin and shared a mud pie and just got to know each other better.  Several dates later and we were going steady :).

About 3 months into the relationship I knew there was a good chance that I would marry this guy one day.  We officially fell in love around this time and it was just a matter of time before he popped the question. Well...more like 2.5 years later, but we were young!

Celebrating one year together.  I was a sophomore in college and he was a Junior.

Just shy of 3 years dating Cory proposed to me one October evening after watching the Heartbreak kid at the movie theater.  If you have ever seen that movie you will laugh because it is about a couple who get married, and the wife cheats on him on their honeymoon.  Not quite the setting he had hoped to set.  Note to all men: preview movie before taking your girlfriend if you plan to propose after haha.  It was late in the evening and he wanted to take me to our chapel to propose.  I of course didn't know and told him I was really tired.  I asked if he would drop me off at home first.  He ended up taking me home, but then didn't leave.  He wanted us to sit on the couch together.  All of a sudden he started telling me how much I meant to him and it all clicked, he was going to propose.  Then, out of nowhere, he says, I have an itch on my ankle, can you scratch it.  I immediately dropped the idea of a proposal out of my mind after that.  Of course I go to scratch his ankle and my hand lands on a box, in his socks.  haha.  Yes, he was proposing.  I can't imagine him doing it any other way.  Shortly after the proposal we went on a cruise to the Eastern Carribean, which I had won.  Such a fun way to celebrate!

About 7 months later we were married! June 27th, 2008 in Bellingham, WA

Two weeks later we packed all our belongings and moved to Arizona for Dental School.

15 months after getting married we had our first baby, Joseph.

Then, 17 months after Joseph was born we added another member to our family, Genevieve.

Life was beautiful and crazy those 4 years of Dental School, but with the Grace of God we made it.  In May 2012 Cory Graduated with Honors from Dental School.  I couldn't have been more proud!

After almost a year of living in North Idaho we added another child to the mix. In 5 weeks we will get to meet him/her for the first time.

Wow! It is amazing how many things happen in 9 years.  Our family went from looking like this:

To this :)

Happy 9 years sweet husband.  I am so grateful God put you in my life, I love you so much!
